Pre-bloom Sunflower

Sunflower
This is an image of the first sunflower that bursts into bloom in our front yard. I commonly see pictures of these in full bloom and they are beautiful. But, the pre-bloom sunflower is an amazing site. The textures and shapes that are here present fascinate me.

Wow Clayton, that is really impressive, and I'm not just saying that. The contrast is perfect, and you did a good job keeping the detail intact through B&W. This is a great photo!

I agree. And the lack of color seems especially appropriate for a "pre-bloom" flower shot, it's like those pre-dawn moments before the sun sets things aglow.
